Our theme verse is Psalm 24:6

“This is the generation that seeks Him, that seeks thy face, O Jacob.”

We are a generation that seeks the Lord and we are preparing to take the world by storm!  Like a Category 5 hurricane, our schools, neighborhoods, families & our church will be  impacted as we offer our lives in service to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Some things you can expect to find in Category 5:

Worship, Acceptance, Fun, Service Opportunities, Spiritual Growth, Friends & More!

We have Youth Service once a month during the Sunday morning service. Our Teen Praise Team provides the music and we enjoy testimonies from other teens, as well as, a message from a youth group leader or special guest.

Activities are usually once a month. Some of them are with Baptist Youth Fellowship (BYF) which is a group of independent Baptist churches that gather their youth groups together to do a bigger activity. Several times a year, we do activities with our youth group only so our teens can build relationships, have fun or serve together.

Camp & Missions Trips: Each summer, we take a trip. We alternate camp one year and a missions trip the next. We have been to camp with Studentz (2012/2014) and Student Life (2008/2010). We have taken missions trips to Jamaica, inner-city Columbus, Ohio and Madison, VA. This past summer we participated in local missions. We try to keep camp and missions trips around the same time each year (mid-July) so that families have an idea of when to plan vacations.

Wednesday Nights: We have just begun a 3 year journey of The Gospel Project curriculum. The Gospel Project for Students is a Christ-centered, chronological study that will take students on a journey through the storyline of Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation. Along the way, students will discover the big picture of what God has been doing throughout redemptive history, and what it means for them. The teens and leaders love it!

Category 5 is for 6th – 12th graders. At the beginning of June, the rising 6th graders move up from the Elementary class to join us. The first of September, the graduated seniors move up to our Young Adults class to continue their spiritual growth.
