GENEROSITY

Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.  So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:41-47

As I write this blog, the Little Drummer Boy is playing from my Christmas list. King and Country have my favorite rendition!  We are right in the middle of the Christmas season, and I am enjoying the traditional events that make this time so special.  I am drinking coffee out of a cup that says JOY.  My family drove around looking at lights last night and Paula and I are planning on going to Washington DC to see the National Tree next week.  I am a very blessed person!

Since my last post, the Choice Family celebrated our 31st Anniversary.  The atmosphere at church is energetic and many are participating in our Advent series.  I regularly thank God for the opportunity to take part in the leadership of Choice Baptist Church.  In a few short weeks we will enter 2024 with all the hopes, dreams and plans for the future.  I think it is going to be another fantastic year!

But for the next few weeks we can pause and enjoy the blessings of this time of year.  The Holidays, Advent, Christmas!  It is a season of giving.  It is one of the best opportunities to consider all of the blessings that have come our way and consider how we can be a blessing to others.  Jesus gave so we give.  Christmas is a time of giving.  The Wise Men gave to Jesus, so we can give to our Savior as well.  How will you steward the wonderful opportunities that Christ has given to you?

Acts 2 is such a beautiful passage for our church.  God led me to this passage when I planted Choice.  It deals with salvation, baptism and membership.  It reminds us of the vision of our church to Make Disciples of all nations.  Our values of Truth & Grace are seen in this passage.  And these verses conclude with believers showing GENEROSITY to others.

Below is a list of areas that we are collecting for this Christmas of 2023.  As you prayerfully consider the blessings that have been bestowed upon you, how can you demonstrate your love for our Lord?  How can you help further Christ’s Kingdom in the New Year?  How can you make an Impact and meet the needs of others?

MANNA – Romania Health/Feeding Center                       $8,000
Romanian Missionary Ovidiu:  Ice Cream Outreach     $4,500
Choice Biblical Counseling Center                                 $3,000

Total                                                                                 $20,000

As I conclude writing,  King and Country is singing, Joy To The World…let Earth receive her King!  Not everyone is experiencing the Joy of Christmas today.  If you are not, please let us know how we can help.  If you are having Joy, how can you share it with others?

God is good!  May you be filled with Love, Joy and Peace as we conclude 2023.  I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
